Everyone's a winner!

This is the classic scam.

A smooth talking salesman will usually try and get you on the phone to really convince you that you are going to be part of a "secret gamble", but I assure you, this is not the case.

How do I know that this is true ? Well, many years ago, when I was young and naive, I fell for this trick!

The salesman will tell you that the horse in question has been meticulously prepared for this one race for months.

"This horse has won already" he will tell you and "All it has to do is turn up and it wins." "If you miss out on this opportunity, you will be cursing yourself forever, as they don't come around very often."

Once he has given you about 5 minutes of complete lies and thinks he has you convinced, he will then tell you that he doesn't want a payment in advance for this "secret gamble", he instead would like you to £100 on for him and send him the winnings!

All this sounds perfectly reasonable so far I suppose, because if the horse doesn't win, they he gets nothing anyway.

What you don't know is that there are probably 10 runners in this race, and he has called 9 other punters, said exactly the same lies to them and now he is guaranteed a winner!

One of those horses is now going to win and he is praying it will be a nice priced one, because if a 12/1 shot comes in, the person who he rang and gave that one to, will now be thinking "This really does work!", but unfortunately, they have been lucky this time and won't be next time.

There are many of these con men about, so please don't listen to rubbish like this. They can get as much money as they want on any horse now and at much better prices with the introduction of Betting Exchanges.

Beware of these people, they are all around you and have no conscience at all.
